Return & Refund Policy

We value every customer and craft each baptismal piece with love, detail, and care. Please read this policy carefully before placing your order.

Effective Date: 2025  ·  Applies to all purchases, custom orders, and rentals from Amelia Atelier de Couture.

By purchasing or renting from Amelia Atelier, you agree to the terms outlined below regarding returns, refunds, exchanges, cancellations, and sizing concerns. Because many of our pieces are handmade, made-to-order, or custom-crafted, our policy reflects the care and irreversibility of the work put into each gown.

We are always happy to assist — and will do our best to provide fair and reasonable solutions for every customer, every time.

Section 01

Made-to-Order & Customized Items

All customized and made-to-order pieces are non-refundable and non-returnable once production has started. Since each piece is individually crafted, we cannot resell personalized items.

Customized Gowns

Baptismal gowns made to your design specifications, silhouette preference, or fabric request are crafted uniquely for your baby and cannot be returned.

Personalized Embroidery

Any piece with embroidered names, initials, dates, or custom motifs is made exclusively for your child and is non-refundable under all circumstances.

Altered or Custom Sizing

Items adjusted or crafted to your baby's specific measurements are tailored individually. These cannot be resized for another customer or returned.

Rush Orders

Rush orders involve expedited production and are subject to the same non-refundable terms. Additional rush fees are also non-refundable once work has begun.

Please confirm all details before ordering. We recommend reviewing measurements, design preferences, and event dates carefully. Once production begins, changes may no longer be accommodated — message us immediately if you need to adjust.

Section 02

Ready-to-Wear Items

Returns or exchanges for ready-to-wear pieces may be accepted within 3 days of receiving the item — provided all conditions below are met.

Conditions for Return
  • Item is unused and unwashed
  • Original tags and packaging are still complete
  • No stains, perfume, damage, or alterations
  • Proof of purchase is provided
  • Request submitted within 3 days of receipt
Resolution Options
  • Exchange for another size (subject to availability)
  • Store credit
  • Refund (approved cases only)

Return shipping fees are shouldered by the customer unless the issue was caused by an error on Amelia Atelier's end (wrong item sent, defective piece, etc.).

Section 03

Rental Items

Rental fees are generally non-refundable once a reservation is confirmed. Because reserved pieces are blocked off for your event date, cancellations directly affect our scheduling and availability for other families.

Sizing Concerns

We strongly encourage all customers to review sizing carefully before ordering. Amelia Atelier is not responsible for incorrect sizing caused by inaccurate measurements submitted by the customer.

Before You Order

Review our Size Guide thoroughly and take your baby's measurements accurately. When between sizes, we always recommend sizing up — our gowns are designed with generous, flowing silhouettes.

If you're uncertain about sizing, please reach out before placing your order. Send your baby's age, weight, and measurements and we'll recommend the best fit for your piece.

Section 05

Damaged or Incorrect Orders

We take quality seriously. If your order arrives defective, incorrect, or incomplete, we will make it right — just follow the steps below.

Report Within 48 Hours

Contact us within 48 hours of receiving your order. Concerns reported after this window may not be eligible for resolution. Don't wait — reach out immediately.

Provide Your Order Details

Include your order number, clear photos or videos of the defective or incorrect item, and a written description of the concern. Complete documentation speeds up the process.

We Verify & Resolve

Once we verify the concern, we'll arrange the most appropriate resolution — replacement, repair, exchange, or another agreed-upon outcome — as promptly as possible.

Section 06

Non-Refundable Situations

To protect the integrity of our handcrafted work and ensure fairness, refunds or returns will not be accepted in the following circumstances.

  • Change of mind after purchase
  • Wrong size ordered by the customer
  • Last-minute cancellations (past the 24-hour window)
  • Delays caused by third-party couriers
  • Minor color differences due to screen calibration or photography lighting
  • Items that have been used, washed, or altered after receipt
  • Rental items that have already been used for the event
  • All customized, made-to-order, and rush order items once production has begun

We photograph and document all orders before dispatch. This protects both our customers and our atelier in the event of any dispute.

Section 07

Refund Processing Time

If a refund is approved, please allow adequate processing time depending on your payment provider.

Processing Window

Approved refunds may take 5–15 business days to reflect, depending on your bank or payment platform. We will notify you once the refund has been initiated on our end.

Refund Method

Refunds are returned through the original payment method used at checkout, unless an alternative has been mutually agreed upon in writing.

Section 08

Order Cancellation

Orders may only be cancelled within 24 hours after payment, provided that production has not yet started.

Eligible for Cancellation

Within 24 hours of payment confirmation and before production has begun. Please message us immediately — the sooner the better, as we begin preparing orders promptly.

After the 24-Hour Window

Cancellation fees may apply, or the order may no longer be eligible for cancellation at all — especially once materials have been cut or embroidery has started.

To request a cancellation, message us through our Contact page, Facebook, Instagram, or WhatsApp with your order number and reason. We'll confirm eligibility promptly.
